We talked about this title some weeks ago as Nintendo launched 3 official websites for their upcoming titles Metroid: Other M, The Last Story and XENOBLADE. These websites featured some rather nice sound samples of what we could expect, and people have been trying to figure out the composers for the different titles.
Well now we know one of them atleast, as Famitsu reports in their latest issue that Yoko Shimomura will score the soundtrack for XENOBLADE. Now we just gotta know the composers for the other titles as well.
Are you excited to hear Shimomura’s work on Monolith’s new RPG?

I suspected Mitsuda but upon listening to the samples, couldn’t quite reconcile the sound to ‘his sound’. Since XENOBLADE is a xeno game in name only, I’m not that worried who composes it. Shimomura is more than up to the task, but a true Xeno sequel (unlikely as it is) would push any composer, given the standards set thus far.
Awesome news. About time Shimomura did something outside of freaking Kingdom Hearts. Yes, “freaking.”
Why does that article hyperlink to another one in the body? This is confusing!

I love her “friggin” Kingdom Hearts OSTs, one of my most listened to OSTs, EVER. I wonder if an interview with her can get a “un-intentional leak of information” regarding KH3 😛
I cant see anyone other than her doing it. I mean, her style has given shape to KH. You know, just like how not putting David Bergeaud in R&C:CiT changed the whole feel of it -_-

Are you kidding me Jayson? She’s done plenty of works outside of Kingdom Hearts.
Legend of Mana, Parasite Eve, the Mario & Luigi RPGs, FFversusXIII and more.
I love the music in all of those. Definitely excited for this!
She hasn’t really done most of that stuff “lately.” The stuff there that’s new don’t have soundtrack releases.
