Things have been busy for game composer Daniel Baranowsky. Amidst the madness of last week’s Game Developer’s Conference, the man behind the music of Ed McMillen’s wall jumping platformer Super Meat Boy and Adam Atomic’s one-button rooftop hopper Canabalt has released soundtracks for two more indie game projects. First is Armor Games’ SteamBirds, a top-down aerial combat game with a unique turn-based strategy engine. Baranowsky’s sweeping orchestral score might be only five tracks in length, but it’s still some of the most epic composition I’ve ever heard for a browser-based Flash game. Danny has also released the soundtrack for Adam Atomic’s Gravity Hook HD, another insanely addictive Flash game that’s free-to-play online, with an iPhone version forthcoming. The album includes 7 tracks from the game, as well as the full soundtrack from the original Gravity Hook.
Both albums can be streamed for free online, or bought for as little as $0.99 (or more, depending on your generosity) on Danny B’s Bandcamp page. And while you’re there, don’t forget to check out the Canabalt soundtrack too if you haven’t already.
