Square Enix recently launched a website dedicated to the Seiken Densetsu box set that we posted about a few weeks ago. Along with a confirmation of the box’s contents (original soundtracks and arrange albums), it’s also confirms that there will be a DVD with interview footage as well as an orchestral medley from the series. Perhaps this medley is the Secret of Mana suite from Symphonic Fantasies which is playing in the background on the website? It should be nice to have high quality footage of the performance of this is the case.
What really made me want to post about the official website, however, is the image of the box set. It’s gorgeous! The presentation is worlds better than the SaGa box, and I do have to say that I love the green color scheme. I also kind of think it’s funny that they set up a photo shoot for the box, complete with the velvety green blanket in the background.
Anyway, I’m more excited about this box than ever at this point. How about you? What are you looking forward to the most from this box set?

That’s amazing. Does it come with the green blanky then?
Haha, that’d be awesome. They need to produce more game-branded bedding in this world!
Anyone else find it kind of weird and unwieldy that these are physical collections? I love Mana as much as the next guy, but why would you choose to have something of this scale on physical media? Does anyone actually listen to CDs anymore? Why not a themed USB drive with lossless audio?
This…is amazing!
It’s true that music has evolved to be primarily digital, but I will always prefer listening to CD/Vinyl over digital. The truth is, even if I rip my CDs at the highest quality, it doesn’t change the fact that I still want to own those physical CDs. I own the Breath of Fire Special Box, SaGa Box, and Castlevania Box Set and they are all worth it.
This packaging does look way beyond the SaGa box. I thought it was pretty weird how you had to assemble the box on your own.
Yea i downloaded all my favorite soundtracks, but I also bought them all. Not only to support the composer and company, but because CD quality is amazing! Especially when u have a 5.1 surround sound system in your living room ;P I hate listening to music with ear/headphones. Anyways…. it just feels great to actually own and listen to the CDs, and its fun finding them, like a game almost XP
Very nice. I especially like the screenshots that are included for each game. Should help set the proper context when listening to each soundtrack. 🙂
Even though I already own a few of the Mana sountracks my collection is far from complete, so I’ll probably go ahead and pick this up. If I don’t, I know I’ll just end up kicking myself down the road (like I’m still doing with the Breath of Fire set…). Thanks for the preview.
@pasq242 that is a pretty neat idea too. After all, what do you really do with these box sets, and it seems like if you’re having to put 20 CD sets together, we need some new medium that can store more audio. On the other hand, I had discussion with a friend recently about digital content. It seems that when I get something in a digital format, I just file it away in my music player and I’m lucky if I ever see or hear it again. It has to do with how you browse for your music on a music player. On the other hand, I still regularly browse through my physical CD collection, and will either be inspired to seek out a specific CD in my iPod or even bring th physical CD along with me to play in the car or whatever. Also, I don’t feel as large of a connection to digital content to the point where I may not even listen to it if I got it as a download.
