Watch This Video and Learn From It: Red Alert 3 Remix With George Takei, Jenny Mcarthy, Others

That’s right. This wacky remix trailer not only features the classic “Hell March” track we all know and love from the original Red Alert, but it also sports vocal clips from the game’s voice actors saying things like, “Armored dolphins,” “That sounds kinky,” “Cowboy style,” and even George Takei saying “All your base are belong to us.” I’m really bad with celebrity names, so I don’t know who any of these people are, but I’m sure some of them are famous.

The trailer is obviously meant to be way over the top, but I think it’s pretty funny. It’s nice to get a taste of what “Hell March 3” will sound like, as series veteran Frank Klepacki confirmed months ago that he would be back on board at least to compose this theme.

What do you think of the above video? Think they can have George Takei say anything and it will be funny?

We recently had the pleasure of seeing Klepacki perform “Hell March 1 & 2” live in concert, so the news today of his involvement on Red Alert 3 was definitely welcome news. In a brief video shot from his home studio in Las Vegas, Klepacki thanks his fans and announces that he will be working on the title before reaching for the devilish-looking guitar we saw at the VGL show. He went even further to tease fans by explaining that he had to cut the video short in order to work on “Hell March 3.”

Frank Klepacki is amazing and his guitar has been an obsession of mine since I saw it last week. Is anyone else excited to see Klepacki back on board with the franchise after his absence from Command and Conquer 3?

Video Games Live: Epic Heat, Costumes, and Guitars

Another night, another Video Games Live concert, this time in Las Vegas. With over 50 shows planned for 2008, co-creators Tommy Tallarico and Jack Wall have been busy. Having seen the show numerous times, I can’t say that this was the best performance, but this is mostly due to the unbearably hot Henderson Pavilion (an outdoor venue in Las Vegas… really?) and a shoddy sound setup that treated listeners to hisses and crackling during quiet portions of the show and Earth-shaking aural bombardments during the louder portions of the performance.

“Hell March” from C&C: Red Alert is one of the most iconic and memorable tracks from PC gaming. Period. The quality and energy of the track was years ahead of its time, as I’ve yet to hear it rivaled. Video Games Live recently announced that composer Frank Klepacki will be on hand in Las Vegas on Saturday, June 14 to perform the piece with his band and the Las Vegas Philharmonic.

Does anyone else have fond memories of “Hell March?” Will this announcement convince anyone to face the Las Vegas heat to hear the performance?
