September is fast-approaching and along with the promise of slightly cooler temperatures here in the Northern Hemisphere, it also means it’s nearly time for the swirling videogames and music maelstrom that is the Penny Arcade Expo. Over the few years of its existence, comic artist entreprenuers Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik’s videogame empire has grown exponentially, now with two annual Expos hosting tens of thousands of attendees each year.
This year’s West Coast Expo will have many of the things that have made PAX a success in the past, like the Omegathon, a colossal all-encompassing videogame tournament, and performances from videogame music heavyweights Jonathan Coulton and Anamanaguchi. There’s tons of new stuff happening too, like a Chiptune Music Showcase and panel (no more getting shut down by the cops on the street!) featuring Fighter X, Spamtron and other artists from near and far.
We’ll be on the scene, reporting on all these happenings and more during the weekend of September 3rd – 6th so stay tuned.
