As we reported on earlier this year, the music for indie game Path of Exile – The Fall of Oriath has progressively been released by the game’s composer, Kamil Orman-Janowski. Recently, Kamil has released previews for Act 6 of the game, which is being worked on for a release in the near future, as announced on the official forums for the game.
“Thank you so much for your patience and support with the soundtrack. I really hope that you will like the new music. See you in Wraeclast!“ – Kamil Orman-Janowski, Composer
You can find out more about the upcoming Act 6 of Path of Exile – Fall of Oriath as well as information on the rest of the game on their official website. You can also preview more of Kamil Orman-Janowski’s music for the game on his Soundcloud.
Composer Kamil Orman-Janowski (Warplane Legends, Beyond Space and Isleron: The Rending) has expanded upon his composing for indie online RPG game Path of Exile with the new expansion, The Fall of Oriath.
The newest expansion will feature six new acts in total. Orman-Janowski relates to the new music in a developer diary featured on the Path of Exilewebsite.
When it comes to the sheer amount of work and attention to detail, The Fall of Oriath takes Path of Exile’s music and composition to another level. The fifth act is also the first act for which the soundtrack was composed as a complete “package”, with tracks notably relating to each other.
Path of Exile was released in 2013 free-to-play on Steam by Grinding Gear Games and follows a similar style as that of the Diablo games. Orman-Janowski was one of several composers working on the game’s music throughout the first four acts of the game, with the new expansion being worked on by him alone.
With Path of Exile we are also lucky in that we can keep on improving the music. Instead of having one deadline for finishing the game, and then moving on to the next game like most game companies would, we can continually expand on and improve old content. Path of Exile’s music is something that is constantly evolving and expanding, not only with each major expansion, but sometimes in smaller patches as well. The small and often-seen patch note, “Incrementally improved effects, animations, sounds and world areas” sometimes hides very big musical changes.
The six new acts introduced in The Fall of Oriath is currently available for pre-purchase with a beta playable. The full release will be launched later this month.
