Well, maybe not, but the the trailer music sounds so much like the Dragon Quest overworld music! For those who are unfamiliar, Destructoid’s Colette Bennett has been keeping everyone posted on this creepy Square Enix survival-horror title that focuses on a cursed 8-bit game. Is it possible that Koichi Sugiyama took a break from Dragon Quest IX to work on this insanely catchy and nostalgic tune?
I will say the creepy guy at the end of the trailer humming the melody is a bit unsettling, but hey, the song won’t get out of my head! Maybe that’s the curse…? Check the video for yourselves. Any guesses as to which Square Enix composer might be handling the audio for this one?
