Do you like Super Mario Galaxy? Well, I’ve been dying for a PLAY! A Videogame Symphony performance to hit California ever since the tour picked up the rights and sheet music to perform “Gusty Garden” from the mildly-popular, space-aged Nintendo platformer. Here’s me wishing for an Actraiser and Lost Odyssey performance as well which were absent from the San Jose concert in the area last year.
The San Francisco performance is set for Saturday, August 23 at the Davies Symphony Hall and is being termed a “special concert” by producer Jason Michael Paul, so I hope this means music premieres, special guests from Japan, and the release of the PLAY! CD/DVD that has been in the works since April. JMP Productions promises more news regarding this special evening as the date approaches, so be sure to watch the official PLAY! website for details. Does anyone have any guesses as to who or what may turn up at the show?
