On March 11, 2016 Moon Studios the creators of Ori and The Blind Forest released the “Definitive Edition” of the game and with it composer Gareth Coker has released more music.
This album contains the following material:
– New tracks from Ori : Definitive Edition (Tracks 1 – 8)
– Music from the 3 trailers that Moon Studios have released for the game. (Tracks 8 – 10)
– Music that was not released on the original soundtrack. (Tracks 11 – 20)
– A selection of music that was unused or cut from the original game. (Tracks 21 – 26)
– A selection of music from the original Ori prototype. (Tracks 27-29)“Owning this alongside the original album (purchasable at iTunes, Amazon, etc.) gives you just about all the music content in the game .
Thank you so much for all your support for Ori in the last year, it means the world to all of us, the musicians, engineers, everyone who worked on the score, and most definitely not least, Moon Studios.”

I reviewed the first release of the soundtrack and for me it was the best soundtrack released in 2015. You can revisit my review for the original soundtrack here and read why it is such a solid achievement for video game music which features the Nashville Music Scoring Orchestra, and brilliant vocals by Aeralie Brighton. You can also check out Sebastian Urrea’s review of his most recent soundtrack to The Mean Greens which is not the soundtrack your plastic army men need, but the one they deserve.
Gareth Coker has the album available on his bandcamp page for Name Your Price. I have already listened to the album and it is a gorgeous companion to the original soundtrack. If you own the original game you can purchase The Defnitive Edition on Xbox One’s store as an add on for $4.99. If you don’t own the game you can get it for $19.99. PC users will have to wait a little bit longer to get their hands on it.
Have you played Ori and The Blind Forest? What did you think of the music in the game?

I just wanted to thank you for writing such an amazing soundtrack to an amazing game. It is the whole package. I kid you not when I say I ALWAYS have the original album playing in the background when I am studying for nursing school. I am sure this new soundtrack will be just as great. Thank you again and I cannot wait until the definitive version comes out on Steam!
