Midnight Orphans: New & Unreleased Music From Disasterpeace

Famous for his mind-meltingly elaborate progressive rock-style compositions, Staten Island’s Disasterpeace, aka Rich Vreeland, takes a different approach on Midnight Orphans, a free collection of musical loose ends written between 2006 and 2010. Trading in frantic time signature changes and epic lo-fi orchestration for smoothed out downtempo electronica with nuggets of chiptune flavor, Vreeland delicately assembles melancholy moods with each precarious melody and emotive wave of ambience. The result is a diverse but somehow cohesive selection of tracks that shows a refreshingly different side of the Disasterpeace repertoire.

It’s available for free on Bandcamp. Keep an eye out for his upcoming full-length, Rise of the Obsidian Interstellar.
