Alright, another video that I’ve been meaning to post about for months. I don’t even remember who told me about these guys at this point (Dale, perhaps?), but yeah, they basically perform classic game and anime music while wearing strange frog, rabbit, and scream masks. If it doesn’t make sense, just watch the above video and be amazed.
This Chrono Trigger medley really hit the spot after listening to the beautiful arrangement of “Wind Scene” that was featured on the Chrono Trigger Orchestra Extra Soundtrack from last year (that’s how long I’ve been meaning to post about this). The “Magus Theme” segment is awesome too. If you browse around YouTube, TheScreamer has an impressive rendition of “Vampire Killer” from Castlevania and a “Theme of Love” duet from Final Fantasy IV. They also do Naruto and Princess Mononoke as well, so check ’em out!
Is this the most bizarre idea ever? Are you happy that they’re doing it anyway? I know I am.

It was me, Jayson. It was me. Here’s the proof.
You even called it bizarre, so I’m going to call you a plagiarizer.
Ah, good. So now we know who it was. Yeah, I’m a badman.
Jayson – that’s awesome man, makes me want to play Chrono again. Great video, thanks for the link.
Hey Jayson,
If you enjoyed this, you might enjoy the small Supersweep published album featuring the TheScreamer entitled Violin de Hiitemita Makai no Shirabe / Scream no Hito (SRIN-1055). It’s a pretty interesting album featuring arrangements of various anime themes. As for this video, I was fond of Wind Scene, but I thought the treatment of Frog’s Theme was a bit harsh (I don’t think it works well in a string quartet format).
Yeah the violinist with the Screen mask (Scream no Hito) is the original guy who was doing this, it looks like he just found a couple more friends to co-star and perform in his video arrangements along with him. He’s bigger on Niconico video than Youtube.
I know Scream. He comes to the JDK Band concerts and is a real nice guy in person. I had no idea who he was at first during our Falcom fan gathering, and suddenly he pulled out this crazy mask and went to the front of the room and started playing Valestine Castle while everyone watched eagerly. I was like, “WTF?” But it was awesome. Come to find out, he’s pretty big in Japan, especially in the mixi community. Had no idea at the time though.
