Distant Worlds Aren’t So Distant: Two New Final Fantasy Concerts In the US

It’s about time! I was starting to worry that there wouldn’t be another Final Fantasy Distant Worlds concert after the two initial performances and the album release earlier this year. It’s a great show, but I guess they don’t feel any urge to take the show on a full-scale tour.

So, where are these two performances? The first one is actually very soon, on October 8, 2008 in Denver, CO, and the second is on April 14, 2009 in Grand Rapids, MI. Uematsu will be attending the performance in Grand Rapids, so that appears to be the one to make it out to if you can.

This really is a great show, but if you can’t make it out to the two performances a year that they put on, I highly recommend the CD which can be purchased through their website.  It has the best arrangement of “Fisherman’s Horizon” ever.

See Chocobo Dance, Hear Draco sing — your favorite melodies are brought to life on stage, in the beautiful Boettcher Concert Hall in Denver, and DeVos Performance Hall in Grand Rapids, including the full symphony orchestra, choir and special soloists. With over 100 world‐class performers on stage, under the direction of conductor and music director Arnie Roth, and featuring the magnificent concept artwork of Yoshitaka Amano, and the exciting exclusive video sequences from the legendary Final Fantasy series, this will be one of the largest video game concert experiences ever.

Nobuo Uematsu, legendary composer of the Final Fantasy series, will make a special appearance in person in Grand Rapids!
