It isn’t a mega-composition like Super Meat Boy or the pensive trance score of Crypt of the Necrodancer but Danny B is back with a new soundtrack and it’s for an iOS game based on, wait, Rocky? Sylvester Stallone’s downtrodden hero and his famous foes came to Apple devices on December 7th in the free-to-play game from Tapinator Inc. simply titled Rocky.
After filling their roster with famous characters like Apollo Creed and Ivan Drago, players pit their teams against one another with battle music from Mr. Baranowsky. The album is only three songs long but fans will immediately recognize his signature thumping beats, gnawing guitars and twinkling synths. This is not simply a techno rendition of Bill Conti’s famous “Gonna Fly Now” and it really makes me wish there were more tracks on offer.
Still, any Danny B is good to have so take a listen above and grab the album for $1.99 from his Bandcamp page.
