Are you as excited about Dark Void as we are? We had the pleasure of speaking with composer Bear McCreary at Comic Con last year, and with the game is set to ship this month, so what better time to send a huge pile of Dark Void swag your way? Thanks to the Dark Void community team, we have 5 survivor packs to give away that are filled with all sorts of goodies.
So, what’s here? Along with the welcome letter from the Dark Void community team, you’ll get multiple post cards, comic books, iron-on artwork, and posters signed by the development team. You can share the extra copies with your friends, or hoard them for yourselves. Each survivor kit also includes two foam Dark Void grenades and a snazzy Dark Void flash drive. To top it all off, we even have a couple other Capcom titles to give away courtesy of Capcom.
Now you’re probably wondering about what you need to do to win. It’s easy! Simply comment on this post telling us what you’re most looking forward to with Dark Void. Maybe it’s the music composed by Bear McCreary, or the game’s amazing graphics or gameplay mechanics. Let us know what you think! On January 19, 2010 at 11:59 PST we’ll pick 5 winners at random, and among those five, one lucky winner will also get some software to go along with their survivor pack.
Good luck!

I’m definitely looking forward to Bear McCreary’s score, as he’s done some pretty snazzy things in the past. Also, the flying mechanic looks pretty awesome. I think this is going to be one of the first sleeper hits of 2010.
Being a fan of the developer’s previous game, Crimson Skies, I am looking forward to the aerial dog fighting combat.
I’m looking forward to Dark Void Zero most. Dark Void was fun and the demo was pretty cool, but I’ve always been more of an old school gamer at heart and seeing the classic retro style of Zero has me intrigued the most.
It’s being billed as an 8 bit “lost classic” that was supposedly developed for NES and the Play Choice Ten arcade cabinents and EVERYBODY knows that the Play Choice Ten systems were the best machines in the arcades.
Between the retro NES graphic style, the Bear McCreary chiptune score and the fact that Capcom has been doing great with the retro styled games lately, Dark Void Zero makes me proud to be a DSi owner and I will gladly drop the $5 when it comes out to play some classic gaming goodness.
Seriously, a “new” game like this makes a jaded old school gamer like me feel better about the future of gaming. To see that some companies can embrace the past and innovate in the present is a great thing. Dark Void Zero, Final Fight coming back and Mega Man 10 show that Capcom loves it’s history and makes me proud to have been a Capcom supporter since I first played mothereffing VULGUS in the arcades when I was 3. Life long Capcom fan and it’s never gonna stop!
I love the fact they’ve managed to get Tesla into the game, he was such an interesting guy in real life it’ll be interesting to see how he works in the game. And the possibility of a film in the works is intriguing too.
This game gives the impression of really taking FPSes one step further, and from the clips that are out on YouTube by now the flight gameplay looks like it’s alot of fun.
First, the story behind why it didn’t come out originally was intriguing enough to make me want this game…Now I cannot wait to get it.
About 2 minutes into my playthrough of the PS3 demo I realize that I’m hearing an intense, distinctively Middle-Eastern sounding orchestral piece that made me feel like I was being chased by Cylons. I pause the game, check Wiki and lo, I find the game’s composer to be none other than Bear McCreary himself, making his video game debut. I am a huge fan of his works, and I look forward to hearing how the fantastic music compliments the story and particularly the action over the course of the game.
I’m looking forward to Dark Void for it’s intense third person shooter action, it’s aerial combat in a jet pack no less, in all it’s graphical glory (reminds me of a certain bounty hunter from a certain sci-fi universe that will go unnamed!) and it’s way cool sound track!
